Lemon-Soda Drink: A Cyanide to Cancer Cells. Here’s How to Make It With 2 Simple Ingredients
You undoubtedly learned about pH levels in high school. But whether something is alkaline or acidic doesn’t just pertain to science class.
The human body is also subjectable to pH levels.
In fact, some may even argue that the pH level of your body is the single most important determinant of your health. And the fluids in your body can be affected by everything you ingest, absorb or come in contact with.
Every chemical and compound in your body, and even every metabolic process your body undergoes, is designed to function at a specific pH level, so when things are not as they should be, your body will automatically try to set things right—something known as homeostasis.
A Perfect State
The perfect overall pH for your blood is slightly alkaline at 7.35 to 7.45, where 7 is neutral on the pH scale. This number will fluctuate throughout the day, but for the most part a normal pH can vary a little.
Some parts and systems in your body naturally differ in their homeostatic levels, however. For instance, your stomach (pH of 1.35 to 3.5), needs to be slightly more acidic in order to properly digest food. Your skin also needs to be quite acidic (pH 4–6.5) to serve as a protective barrier against the environment and microbial overgrowth. (1)
pH Levels and Disease
The relationship between pH levels and disease is not new. Back in the 1920s, a biochemist, Dr. Otto Heinrich Warburg, determined that disease, more specifically cancer, can only survive in an acidic body.
He was actually awarded the Nobel Prize in 1931 for his discovery. (2) His research, titledThe Metabolism of Tumours, was published in 1926 and irrefutably showed that “…all forms of cancer are characterized by two basic conditions: acidosis and hypoxia (lack of oxygen). Lack of oxygen and acidosis are two sides of the same coin: where you have one, you have the other.”
He also stated that “All normal cells have an absolute requirement for oxygen, but cancer cells can live without oxygen— a rule without exception. Deprive a cell 35% of its oxygen for 48 hours and it may become cancerous.” (3)
His theory holds true for all disease in fact, and is something many health professionals have been saying for decades. Dr. William Howard Hay discussed the issue in his book in 1933, A New Health Era. (4)
In 2006, Dr. Theodore A. Baroody wrote Alkalize or Die. (5) Both doctors, although 70 years apart, knew that acidosis (the state of being too acidic) is the leading cause of degenerative chronic diseases.
What Causes Acidosis?
There are a variety of things that can lead to acidosis, but one of the main contributors is diet.
Numerous studies have researched the relationship between diet and disease and many have directly linked diets high in acid-forming foods to such things as cancer.
“Acidogenic diets, which are typically high in animal protein and salt and low in fruits and vegetables, can lead to a sub-clinical or low-grade state of metabolic acidosis.” (6)
When your body becomes too acidic it starts to destroy itself, killing off your cells. It can cause your immune system to weaken and even collapse. Your body begins to age at an accelerated rate.
As your system becomes more acidic, in order to function, your body begins to use minerals like magnesium, calcium and potassium from your vital organs and bones to affect homeostasis by neutralizing the acid and safely remove it from your body.
Other things that can lead to acidosis are: (7)
- Alcohol and drugs (prescription or otherwise)
- Antibiotic overuse
- Artificial sweeteners such as aspartame
- Chronic stress
- Declining nutrient levels in our foods as a result of industrial farming
- Low levels or lack of sufficient fiberin your diet
- Lack of exercise
- Over-exercise
- Excess animal meats in your diet
- Excess hormones from the food you eat, the health and beauty productsyou use as well as all the plastics in our daily lives
- Exposure to chemicals and radiation from household cleansers, building materials, computers, cell phones and microwaves
- Food coloring and preservatives
- Pesticides and herbicides
- Pollution
- Poor chewing and eating habits
- Processed and refined foods
- Shallow breathing
Acidosis and Your Diet
The typical Western diet lacks enough fruits and vegetables, which contain potassium—a natural buffer for acid.
We also eat far too many processed foods, which contain significant amounts of salt. Studies show that salt not only constricts your blood vessels but also creates acidity in your body. (9)
Plus, westerners tend to eat excessive amounts of animal proteins. These proteins can lead to a sulfuric acid buildup in your blood as amino acids are broken down. (10)
Another primary dietary cause of acidosis is processed grains. Along with our lack of fresh fruits and veggies and high amounts of animal proteins, our diets are full of processed corn and wheat.
These processed grains significantly lead to acidosis, and not only in humans. Numerous studies also show that feeding livestock processed grains is causing acidosis and resulting disease. (11,12)
Another key acid-forming food is dairy products. In fact, dairy, despite the Dairy Association’s claim that it contains essential calcium, is a key factor in osteoporosis. (13) As your body becomes more acidic, it must leach calcium from your bones in order to counter the acid since calcium is highly alkaline. Just as food can cause acidity, it can also help alkalinize your body.
An Alkalizing Elixir
One of the best alkalizing foods on Earth are lemons. Despite being acidic, when you eat lemons they have an alkalizing effect within your body.
Water is also important for creating and maintain alkalinity in your body. Water is the lifeblood of most organisms, especially humans who are 70 percent water. Purified water with a pH of between 6 and 8 is best.
Another key compound to incorporate into your diet is sodium bicarbonate (baking soda). Many physicians and researchers have known for years that sodium bicarbonate can treat cancer. (14) This inexpensive and highly available mineral is one of the best ways to help alkalinize your body.
When you combine these three ingredients together, you have the perfect elixir to help fight disease, including cancer. Simply mix water, lemon juice and sodium bicarbonate together and drink it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Do this daily and before long you will see major changes in your health.
Alkalizing Drink Recipe
- 1 cup of pure, filtered water
- Juice of half a freshly squeezed organic lemon
- ½ teaspoon pure sodium bicarbonate (do not use simple commercial baking soda as it can often have aluminum in it)
Mix all ingredients together and drink immediately. You can use warm water if you like, but make sure you use pure filtered water as the contaminants in most drinking water such as fluoride and chlorine can cause further acidosis.
